Amsterdam-based dark wave collective explores themes of displacement, community, and triumph in latest single, Milk & Lemon.
Rising dark wave band Holograph has released their deeply personal new single "Milk & Lemon," an evocative exploration of the immigrant experience that chronicles founders Warren Fisher and Ines Soutschka's journey of finding their place in a new world and first single from upcoming EP ’TEETH'.
"Milk & Lemon is an ode to Warren and my immigration journey: finding one's feet in a new place, discovering community and friendships that make all the difference, being broke in an expensive city, making money," explains vocalist Ines Soutschka. "It's about fitting in, and yet not fitting in, it's about growth and trying to get through, keeping your head high, breathing and trusting. And how amazing it feels when something is achieved, whatever it may be."
The track represents a significant milestone for the band, which has undergone remarkable evolution since its humble beginnings during Cape Town's COVID-19 lockdown in autumn 2020.
